Unlike the Mac agent, the Linux EDR agent does not register itself with any package managers using a legit package or a faux package. Without this registration, RMMs cannot identify which Linux devices have the Huntress EDR agent deployed, and which do not. We cannot tell which devices should get an assigned monitor, nor tell which devices should have the Huntress agent deployed via automation.
A package or faux package should be part of the install process so RMMs can identify which devices have Huntress installed and which do not. Ideally, there should be native packages and update sources for the main Linux flavors instead of a deployment script, but at a minimum, a faux package can be created simply to have something to register and indicate to the RMM that Huntress is deployed.
For Red Hat/Fedora, the command is "rpm -qa"
For Debian based systems, the command is "dpkg --get-selections"
For SUSE/Slackware, RMMs look at the references in /var/log/packages.
