Hey Everyone, just wanted to update you all that this just went live in the first iteration, we've turned off local Uninstallation opting for an Uninstall push from the Dashboard, the second iteration will include Password Protected Uninstallation locally - Here's a link to the Feedback Post https://huntress.canny.io/changelog/enhanced-security-tamper-protection-for-windows
Thank you all for helping shape our products and increase our capabilities!

James Mason | PMM @ Huntress Does this also prevent a admin user from stopping the Huntress process?
R
Rob Noeth
Jonathan Pilkington - Yes, also prevents files and registry keys from being edited/deleted. See the support doc in the post above for more details.

Great! Tamper protection via the portal would be good

Afternoon All,
Apologies we've been a little quiet on this suggestion, just to give everyone an update, we are currently working in a closed beta to test out the functionality we've created so far within our Tamper Protection feature and are gathering feedback, thank you all for your patience on this and continuing to check in on progress!
We should have some good news for you all very soon, keep on checking in with us and suggesting anything you'd like to see in the future!

This is a pretty big oversight and nearly defeats the purpose of having Huntress installed, given that it can very easily be uninstalled by a user. If a bad actor gains access to a PC, they are likely to know that Huntress can easily be removed, and this would be one of their first actions.

It would be nice to have anti tampering protection so users can not disable or uninstall or do anything with huntress without any protection, password, PIN, approval.

I know that best practice is for users to not have admin rights. However, some client users bring their own devices and we manage them. I wish there was some sort of tamper protection to prevent an attacker from disabling Huntress.
