Hi team,
I’d like to highlight some specific localisation issues with the Microsoft 365 phishing simulation templates, particularly the SharePoint phishing campaign, when used in a UK environment.
The current templates appear heavily US-focused, which reduces their realism for UK users. Key issues include:
Spelling and language:** Use of US English (e.g. “organization”, “color”, “favor”) instead of UK English (“organisation”, “colour”, “favour”)
Date formatting:** US-style dates (MM/DD/YYYY) rather than UK standard (DD/MM/YYYY), which is an immediate red flag for users
Tone and phrasing:** Some wording feels unnatural for UK users and doesn’t align with how Microsoft 365 notifications are typically presented in the UK
Formatting conventions:** Inconsistencies in things like address formats, punctuation, and capitalisation compared to UK norms
Contextual authenticity:** Certain templates (e.g. SharePoint notifications) don’t fully reflect how these emails are commonly received by UK-based tenants
These discrepancies can make phishing simulations easier to detect for the wrong reasons, reducing the effectiveness of user awareness training.
It would be beneficial to have a UK-localised version of these templates, or the ability to select regional variants (e.g. UK vs US) when deploying campaigns.
Thanks for considering this improvement.
